Merry Christmas

Here are some pictures of all of us on Christmas Eve.  We've had a great Christmas day together, It all started at 6 am.  Both Parley and Preston were in bed with us earlier but luckily went back to sleep until 6.  The boys got a puppy this morning which you can see in previous posts today.  They also got legos and toys.  Laura was happy with her clothes and some money for more clothes.  Margee and my parents got us a new vacuum cleaner which is pretty nice.

Church was great on Christmas day, singing Christmas hymns and reviewing the Scriptures regarding the birth of Christ started the day off with a sweet spirit.  Nick and Kim spent most of the day with us as we enjoyed our traditional steak, eggs, and cinnamon rolls brunch.

Merry Christmas to all.

See the Video here

First it was Cole/Coal, then it was Ninja for a few hours, and now finally they have decided on Slim.

Parley and Slim

Parley and his droids.

Preston and Slim playing

The boys new dogs name was Ninja this morning but now it is Slim.  We'll see what it is next week.  Everybody seems to like him OK except Opie....he likes to growl at his new house guest.
Slim is quite stealth, he does have a face it is just hard to see in Pictures so far.

Preston Turns 8

We had a great weekend at the ocean in Longbeach/Ocean Park.  It was fun to be on the beach, the kids got wet and sandy and had fun. The weather turned out OK.  Preston couldn't wait to open presents so he opened all of them with waffles at Breakfast.  We had his favorite cheese Pizza before coming home tonight.  I can't believe it has been 8 years already.

Remembering 9/11

We've had a great Stake Conference this weekend. Just got home to watch the spoken word tribute to families most impacted and was reminded at how raw my feelings were 10 yrs ago today. My heart is full today as I remember trying to explain to my 4 year old Laura that evil really exists in the world, it just didn't make any sense to her how someone would try to hurt so many. So my prayers today are with the many families that were forever changed 10 years ago, and the many that have been changed since as this battle continues on.

Here is a short version of the tribute:
The full version is on byutv throughout the day, can't find the whole thing on line just yet though.

President Monson's remarks found in the Washington post:

And this 9/12/2001 editorial was one I remember well:

Ben helping with the Sprinklers

Andrew and Laura - working

look how dirty Laura is.......

Update: Laura is trying to file an insurance claim with Uncle Andrew as she got pvc glue on her pants working on the sprinklers. Last I heard the claim was denied based on personal negligence, besides Im sure the cost is well within any deductible any teenager could actually afford. She asked me for money for the pants and I told her I couldnt remember her opening a secondary policy with me, and I also never saw the premium come in.

The Hitch

The majority of the damage is right here, thankfully.

Fun with our New Trailer

Finally here are the pictures of the eventful Friday morning we all enjoyed on our way to Coeur D'Alene. I think there might be more on other cameras, I will try to add them as I find them. Have a Happy Sunday.

Turning from 12th on to Stewart Ave, going way too fast, with a trailer that is only 4 days old for us, I hit the curb on the right side and flipped it onto its left side. The safety mechanism on the hitch held securely to the ball on the receiver lifting the back of my truck several feet in the air.

We were very blessed to only have to replace the receiver and some trailer wiring before we were back on the road. We are very thankful for this.

You can see the skid mark the trailer made and the very cordial Puyallup Policeman in the pictures. We closed Stewart Ave down for a bit more than hour.
